What would you say if I could help you free up a few extra hours a day? Extra time to spend with your family, go to the gym or simply more time in bed so you can perfect your sleep?
Regardless of who you are or what you do, time is something we all need more of.
These three simple strategies have helped me free up at least two hours a day for myself, and I hope they’ll free up more once I really perfect them.
Scheduling your emails and social media time
Social media takes up hours of our day as we mindlessly stroll through our feeds. But when you schedule 2–3 slots a day during which you can enjoy it guilt free and with purpose, you’ll free up more time easily.
And the same can be said with emails. Depending on your job, you can schedule a few slots to help you manage your day and make sure you’re giving your current workload your full attention.
We multitask way too often throughout our days, which means we’re not fully committed to anything we’re doing, which in turn means we spend more time on our tasks.
You can use this strategy with anything, trust me. Want to watch some Netflix? Go for it! But put your phone down and watch the episode. Need to send some emails? Then focus! Shut all other windows on your phone or laptop, smash out your emails, then move onto the next thing.
Fasting and bulk-cooking
Fasting can obviously save you a lot of time in the kitchen, but the simplicity of it also decreases the amount of time you’ll spend worrying about food. Whilst, batch cooking minimising both of these even further freeing up hours in your day. Think about it, if you cook extra for dinner then you’ll have something for lunch the next day, or if you make your breakfast while you’re making your dinner, you’ll also free up some time in the morning, too.
Personally, I eat a big breakfast, usually post-training, and then I wait until dinner before eating again. Other times, when my mornings are extremely busy, I’ll take my breakfast with me and keep it until lunch time.
As I’ve mentioned, these simple and healthy lifestyle strategies have freed up hours in my day, and now they can help you, too.
